Description

If you want to carry as little weight as possible on your travels and are looking for a sleeping bag with some extra length, then the NOMAD® Orion 180 XL is the ideal sleeping bag for you! This ultra-lightweight summer mummy sleeping bag weighs only 595 grams and thas a compact packed size of 22x12 cm. Ideal for backpacking travels, hikes through the mountains or long bicycle rides where every gram counts.

This sleeping bag is intended for taller people or those with a bigger build. The extra 20 centimetres of length and 5 centimetres of width offers ample room to sleep comfortably.

Quality materials for ultimate comfort

The Orion 180 XL is made from super-light, breathable polyester, which feels soft on the skin, even on warm summer nights. The sleeping bag is filled with a mixture of water-repellent down and synthetic hollow fibre, ensuring outstanding warmth and comfort. We know that it’s usually the arms and feet that get cold fastest when you lie still for a long time, so we have added extra insulation in the chest area of this sleeping bag, as well designing a '3D foot box' structure to keep your feet warm.

Features

The Orion 180 XL comes with a comfortable hood which can be tightened around your head with a pull cord to retain warmth. It also has a handy 2-way zip with a length of 155 centimetres that can be opened from both ends; useful when you need some fresh air around your legs on a warm summer night. Inside the sleeping bag is a dedicated compartment for storing small, valuable belongings while you sleep, and if you need to get out of your sleeping bag at night – no problem – you can always find your zip thanks to the glow-in-the-dark zip pull.

The Orion 180 XL is finished with a PFC-free coating, giving it water-repellent properties without the use of harmful chemicals. The lining has been treated with Polygiene Stays Fresh® technology. This antibacterial treatment ensures that the sleeping bag remains fresh and free from odours for longer; it also means the bag needs to be washed less frequently.

The Orion 180 XL can easily be aired after use using the suspension loops at the base of the sleeping bag. It can then be packed in a very compact format using the compression stuffsack supplied. To store the sleeping bag for a longer period, use the roomy, breathable mesh storage bag.

Recommended body length

The recommended maximum body length for this sleeping bag is 200 centimetres. If you do not need the extra length, check out our Orion 180 or Orion 180 S sleeping bags.

Comfort temperature

The Orion 180 XL is suitable for warmer nights. Approximate comfort temperatures are 11°C for women and 7°C for men. This sleeping bag should never be used at temperatures below -5°C. If you intend to travel in colder regions, our Orion 400 or even 900 may prove more suitable.
