Sleeping bag

A sleeping bag can best be kept in a dry and dark place. The sleeping bag will not be affected by moisture in this location (either fungus or bacteria), or by the UV-rays of the sun.
Also ventilate your sleeping bag regularly, even if you are not using it.
Do not store your sleeping bag in its original (compression)cover but in a larger bag. The (compression)cover may decrease the resilience of the filling, which will reduce the isolation value. A sleeping bag with down filling is always a supplied with a storage bag.
When the sleeping bag is inserted in the sleeve, you first open the zipper and then stuff the bag in as radom as possible. This is better than rolling up the sleeping bag.

Washing your sleeping bag

Nomad sleeping bags are wel suitable to be machine washed, provided that the washing instructions are followed. With the Nomad sleeping bags that are using the unique 3D Polarsoft filling, it is even proved that several times washing improves the insulation performance!

When washing, it is important to know which filling it has. The washing instructions are different for down filling than for those with synthetic filling.

Sleeping bag with a synthetic filling:

  • Make sure the zippers are open.
  • Wash the sleeping bag at 30 degrees.
  • Use liquid detergent, about 1/3 of the prescribed amount.
  • Do not use fabric softeners, this may affect the filling.
  • Wash the sleeping bag with a hand wash.

For drying:

  • Don't lay your sleeping bag near a heat source.
  • Dry the sleeping bag horizontally.
  • Shake the sleeping bag regularly to distribute the filling evenly.

How to store your sleeping mat

A sleeping mat can best be kept in a dry and dark place. The sleeping mat will not be affected by moisture in this location (either fungus or bacteria), or by the UV-rays of the sun.

By keeping the valve open the foam will have its full resilience the next time you use it. Also the mat will not experience unnecessary presure when the ambient temperature rises.

How do I repair my sleeping mat

  • Open the valve and let the mat blow up. Blow some more air into the mat and then close the valve.
  • Make the sleeping mat dampened with water. If there is a hole small bubbles will appear on the mat.
  • Mark the found hole with a pencil.
  • Make the sleeping mat dry again and let all the air go out of the sleeping mat.
  • Now take the right color fabric from the repair bag and cut out a circle.
  • Then apply glue to the hole in the sleeping mat. Let it dry for 2 hours.
  • Then apply glue to the shiny side of the cut circle and press it firmly on the hole.
  • After two hours of waiting open the valve of the sleeping mat and check if the repair was successful.
